More than 200 units in the downtown, Twin Rivers area of Sacramento, are about to get demolished and replaced with more housing for more people of more income ranges.

“The exciting thing is not just replacing buildings,” says Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency executive La Shelle Dozier, “It’s about re-imagining communities....“Our goal is for market rates for young working professionals and families who don’t want long a commute to downtown, but who can’t afford other products out there now.

The project design will include some urban 4-story town homes, a park, a community pool and possibly a grocery store.
